A port city with a Japanese-era harbour past, old film locations and islands off the Yellow Sea.

What to do
Walk the movie street and the old harbour area, then pass through the Haemangul tunnel. Wolmyeong Park gives an easy green walk, and boats from Gunsan reach islands such as Eocheongdo.
Tip: The old-town sights are walkable from each other. Island ferries can be cancelled in rough weather.
