About Korea Route and our data
Korea Route is a Korea trip planner for visitors who travel in English or Spanish. It is built and run in Korea, and every plan and guide on this site is made from public Korean data, checked and refreshed on a schedule.
What we do
- Turn your dates, hotel and interests into a day-by-day plan with the subway and bus steps, walking times, fares and food nearby.
- Publish free travel guides: itineraries, trains and buses between cities, Korea month by month, neighbourhoods, the top 50 places and K-drama filming locations.
Where the data comes from
- Places, festivals and photos: Korea Tourism Organization (TourAPI, data.go.kr).
- Trains, express buses, domestic flights and city buses: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (TAGO, data.go.kr).
- Live Seoul subway and bus arrivals: Seoul Open Data Plaza.
- Weather, UV and warnings: Korea Meteorological Administration; air quality: AirKorea.
- Sea-parting days and beaches: Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency.
- Fuel prices on expressways: Korea Expressway Corporation.
- Public holidays: Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute.
- Maps: OpenStreetMap contributors (OpenFreeMap).
How often it is refreshed
- Weather: every 30 minutes. Festivals: every day. Seoul pop-up stores: every day.
- Places across Korea, the top 50 ranking, Michelin picks, K-drama locations and city-to-city timetables: every month.
- Every timetable page shows the date it was checked. Times and prices change: confirm when you book.
How we write
- Guides are written for first-time visitors, in plain English and Latin American Spanish. Some short descriptions are drafted with AI from the official data and then checked against it.
- We do not take payment from the places we list. Rankings follow a published standard: foreign visitor surveys, mobile data and booking sites.
Privacy
- Your trip plans are private: they never appear in search engines. Read the privacy policy for what we keep and why.
