Gimje: what to see and do

A wide-open farmland city on the Honam plain, with a hillside temple and a small temple facing the sea.
Known for
- Geumsansa, a 1,400-year-old temple at the foot of Moaksan
- Moaksan Provincial Park, the mountain behind the temple
- Manghaesa, a small temple above the coastal mudflats
What to do
Visit Geumsansa and its large three-story Mireukjeon hall, then walk the paths of Moaksan. If you have time, drive to Manghaesa, which looks out over the sea.
Tip: Combine Gimje with Jeonju, since Moaksan sits between the two.
