A mountain county near Gwangju, with ancient dolmens, a temple full of old stone Buddhas and a forest park.

- Hwasun dolmens, listed with Gochang and Ganghwa by UNESCO
- Sumanri Ecological Forest, nicknamed Korea's Alps
What to do
Visit Unjusa to see its many carved stones on the hillside, then see the dolmens at the prehistory experience site. For nature, walk the forest park at Sumanri.
Tip: Hwasun is close to Gwangju, so it works well as a day trip from there.
