The northern side of Gwangju, with the slopes of Mudeungsan on one side and riverside lawns along the Yeongsan on the other.

What to do
Hike the lower trails of Mudeungsan for views over the city and mountain. Then walk or picnic on the open riverside lawn at Geojingi, where locals gather.
Tip: Mudeungsan has many trails, so pick a short one near the park entrance if time is limited. Bring water and sturdy shoes.
