Seongsan Ilchulbong & Gwangchigi Beach: what to see and do

A huge volcanic crater rising straight out of the sea at Jeju's eastern tip, with a flat grassy rim on top.
Known for
- Seongsan Ilchulbong, the UNESCO-listed tuff cone
- Gwangchigi Beach, facing the peak
- Seongsan Port, the ferry dock for Udo
What to do
Climb the stairs of Seongsan Ilchulbong to the crater rim for views over the coast, then walk Gwangchigi Beach, where the peak fills the sky. It is a classic sunrise spot.
Tip: Buses reach Seongsan but the ride is long. A taxi or car lets you combine it with Udo ferry, Hamdeok and the east coast.
