Jeju City: what to see and do
Jeju's main city and airport town, with an old shrine in town and lava caves and clear beaches along the northeast coast.
Known for
- Samseonghyeol, the legendary birthplace of Jeju's founding clans
- Manjanggul, a UNESCO-listed lava tube cave
- Gimnyeong Beach, a clear-water beach on the northeast coast
What to do
Visit Samseonghyeol in town to learn Jeju's founding story, then head east to Manjanggul and Gimnyeong Beach. Bring a jacket for the cave, which stays cool and dark inside.
Tip: Only a part of the long Manjanggul tube is open to visitors. The cave stays cool all year.
