Hallasan National Park: what to see and do

South Korea's highest mountain, an extinct volcano rising 1,947 m from the middle of Jeju, with forests and a crater lake on top.
Known for
- Baengnokdam, the crater lake at the summit
- Seongpanak and Gwaneumsa summit trails
- Eorimok Trail, a shorter hike without the summit
What to do
Hike one of the summit trails for a full day, or choose a shorter trail such as Eorimok for forest and open views without reaching the top.
Tip: Public buses reach the main trailheads, but start early. Summit hikes need an advance reservation, so check before you go.
