Okcheon: what to see and do

A small riverside county in southern Chungbuk, known as the hometown of the poet Jeong Ji-yong.
Known for
- Jeong Ji-yong's birthplace and museum, for the poet of Hyangsu
- Yuk Young-su's birthplace, a restored old house
- Ijidang, a pavilion built to honour the scholar Jo Heon
What to do
Visit the poet's birthplace and the old houses, then see Ijidang on its hillside. The Daecheong Lake shore around Okcheon is good for slow drives.
Tip: Okcheon is a small place. Plan it as a half-day stop, with a car or taxi for the pavilion.
