Jangheung: what to see and do
A green, mountainous coastal county with soft ridges, a famous grilled-beef meal and the home village of a well-known novelist.
Known for
- Jeamsan, an 807 m peak with a king rock summit
- Eokbulsan, a 518 m ridge above Jangheung town
- Cheongwansan Provincial Park, known for silvergrass
What to do
Pick one ridge walk, such as Eokbulsan above town, for views over the countryside. Eat Jangheung samhap, beef grilled with scallop and shiitake, a local specialty.
Tip: Without a car, plan around the town centre, where Eokbulsan is close. Autumn is good for the silvergrass on Cheongwansan.
From Seoul: Bus 4 h 30
