Gwangyang: what to see and do

A port and steel city with a green side: a wine cave in an old rail tunnel, camellia woods and a famous grilled beef.
Known for
- Gwangyang Wine Cave, a 301 m former freight tunnel
- Okryongsa camellia forest, best in winter and early spring
- Maecheon Historical Park, a bamboo grove and memorial
What to do
Walk through the wine cave, then try Gwangyang bulgogi, thin marinated beef grilled over charcoal. Add Maecheon Historical Park for a quiet bamboo-grove stroll.
Tip: The sights are spread out, so use a taxi or car. Gwangyang is close to Suncheon and Yeosu, easy to combine on a south coast trip.
