Ulleungdo Island: what to see and do

A steep volcanic island in the East Sea with sea cliffs, a crater basin and small harbour villages.

- Nari Basin, a crater-floor plain
- Taeha Village and its scenic monorail
- Hwangtogul, a clay cave on the Taeha coast
What to do
Visit the Nari Basin, then ride the monorail near Taeha. Island food includes squid and mountain greens.
Tip: Ferries run from Pohang, Gangneung and other east coast ports and often stop in rough seas, so keep spare days.
