Cheorwon: what to see and do

A border-zone plain north of Seoul, where Korean War history and wintering cranes come together.
Known for
- Seungilgyo, a bridge begun by the North and finished by the South
- Goseokjeong, cliffs beside the Hantan River
- Toegyo Reservoir, a winter stop for migratory birds
What to do
See Seungilgyo and Goseokjeong along the Hantan River, then visit the Baengma-goji memorial. Come in winter for bird watching near Toegyo.
Tip: Border-zone sites have access rules and limited hours. Check before you go; a guided tour is easiest.
