Seocheon: what to see and do

A flat, quiet coast of wetlands and bird flyways, with a national ecology institute and a village stuck in time.
Known for
- Ecorium, greenhouses of the National Institute of Ecology
- Geumgang Estuary Barrage, a winter stop for migrating birds
- Panyo, a village that feels frozen in time
What to do
Spend a morning at Ecorium, which recreates climate zones indoors, then walk by the Geumgang barrage. Panyo is a short stop for old shopfront photos.
Tip: Winter is the season for migrating birds at the estuary. Bring warm layers, as the wind off the water is strong.
From Seoul: Train about 2 h 30
