Gyeryong: what to see and do
Korea's smallest city, beside Gyeryongsan, with old family houses and the traces of a royal capital plan.
Known for
- Sagye Gotaek, the old house tied to the scholar Kim Jang-saeng
- Sindoan, stone foundations from a planned royal capital
- Musangsa, a mountain temple on the slopes of Gyeryongsan
What to do
Visit Sagye Gotaek and the Sindoan sites to see what is left of the capital plan. Musangsa is a calm temple at the foot of the mountain.
Tip: The city has few tourist facilities. Pair it with Gongju or Daejeon, both close, for a fuller day.
From Seoul: Bus about 2 h
