Bukhansan & Ui-dong (hiking): what to see and do

Granite peaks and forested valleys inside the city limits, with trailheads that a subway and bus ride can reach.
Known for
- Baegundae, Bukhansan's highest peak at about 836 m
- Bukhansanseong, an old mountain fortress with stone walls
- Ui-dong trailhead restaurants for a hot meal after the hike
What to do
Pick one trail from Ui-dong or the Bukhansanseong side, bring water and layers, and hike for a few hours. Finish with a hot meal in a restaurant near the trailhead.
Tip: Wear proper hiking shoes and check the weather. Trails are steep and busy on weekends, so start early.
