Boryeong Mud Festival

A summer party on Daecheon Beach on the west coast: mud slides, mud wrestling and mud pools with mineral-rich mud from the local tidal flats, very popular with young foreign visitors.

Tips
- Wear clothes you can throw away and bring a waterproof phone case.
- Trains (ITX and Mugunghwa) run from Seoul’s Yongsan Station to Daecheon in about 2 h 30.
- Lockers and showers are on site; weekends are the busiest.
