Goseong: what to see and do

The northernmost coastal county of the South, with white sand beaches, a lagoon and a preserved old village.
Known for
- Hwajinpo Beach, with fine white sand that squeaks underfoot
- Wanggok Village, a protected village of old tile and thatch houses
- Goseong Unification Observatory, a lookout near the border
What to do
Walk Hwajinpo Beach and the lake, then see Wanggok Village's old houses. Border-zone sites like the Unification Observatory need ID and registration.
Tip: Summer is busy on the beaches. Spring and autumn are calmer, with clearer sea views.
